Purpose- The purpose of the role is to design, develop, and own firmware for our industrial and robotics products. To work close to the hardware—on real-time control, motion, and communication—taking subsystems from concept through development, testing, and reliable operation in the field. Beyond writing strong embedded C, help shape firmware architecture, drive engineering quality, and mentor junior engineers on the team.
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience in BLDC motor control, including Trapezoidal and Field-Oriented Control (FOC) algorithms.
- Proficient in Embedded C/C++ for real-time motor control applications on MCUs (Infineon PSoC, TI C2000, STM32, NXP, etc.). Ability to design and implement current, speed, and position control loops, motor startup routines, fault handling, and motor tuning/optimization algorithms.
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C and solid command of microcontroller fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with MCUs/MPUs (preferably STM32; TI, NXP, or Microchip a plus).
- Proven experience taking a firmware module or product from design to field deployment.
- Proficiency with embedded debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, logic analyzer, oscilloscope).
- Working knowledge of RTOS concepts (FreeRTOS or equivalent) and when to use bare-metal vs. RTOS.
- Solid understanding of low-level hardware interfacing and peripheral configuration.
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
