# BATTERY CHEMISTRY R&D INTERN
Cell Testing, Characterisation & Selection
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Adiabatic Technologies Pvt Ltd is an Indian energy company building battery systems, BMS, and chargers for the industries that won't accept downtime — robotics, defence, drones, MHE, AGV, and solar. Located in Ahmednagar, we specialize in both R&D and manufacturing of advanced energy storage solutions. We are a fast-growing team working on cutting-edge technology with real-world impact, driving sustainability and enabling global hardware innovation from India.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Battery Chemistry R&D Intern to work on cell-level performance: testing and characterising Li-ion cells across chemistries, building the data that decides which cell goes into which product, and studying ageing, safety, and thermal behaviour. You will spend real time on the test bench and turn raw cycling data into decisions the design team can use.
DEPARTMENT: R&D — Cell Technology DURATION: 3–6 months (flexible) REPORTING TO: Head of R&D WORK DAYS: Monday to Saturday MODE: On-site preferred LOCATION: Ahmednagar, Maharashtra
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cell Testing & Characterisation
Run charge–discharge cycling, capacity, rate capability, and internal resistance tests on cells Carry out tests across temperature and C-rates, including EIS and pulse tests where applicable Maintain test benches, cyclers, and chambers, and follow lab safety protocol without exception
Data Analysis & Cell Selection
Analyse cycling data to derive capacity fade, ageing trends, and SOC–OCV curves Benchmark LFP, NMC, LTO, and sodium-ion cells from different suppliers against product requirements Prepare cell datasheets, comparison reports, and recommendations for the design team Research & Safety Studies
Review literature and patents on electrode materials, electrolytes, and emerging chemistries Support abuse and safety studies — over-charge, over-discharge, and thermal behaviour Contribute data to BMS calibration, SOC estimation, and warranty modelling
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Students in their final year or recent graduates in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or Energy Engineering Understanding of Li-ion cell fundamentals: chemistries, electrode reactions, ageing, and failure modes Comfort with lab work, instruments, and disciplined record-keeping Data skills in Excel, Python, or MATLAB for analysing large test datasets Patient and precise — good cell data takes weeks and cannot be rushed
Preferred Attributes
Hands-on experience with battery cyclers, potentiostats, EIS, or environmental chambers Exposure to characterisation techniques such as XRD, SEM, or DSC Published project work, thesis, or a paper on energy storage materials
WHAT YOU'LL GET
✓ Access to a working cell test lab and real production-bound cell data
✓ Direct influence on which cells go into shipped products
✓ Mentorship from the R&D team and cross-exposure to BMS and pack design
✓ Internship certificate and publishable, defensible test work
STIPEND
Performance-linked
The first 30 days are an evaluation period, during which the internship is unpaid On demonstrated performance, the internship converts to a paid stipend, reviewed monthly The stipend amount depends on skills, output, and ownership shown during the evaluation period
