# BATTERY SIMULATION ENGINEER INTERN
Thermal & Mechanical Analysis — Battery Packs
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Adiabatic Technologies Pvt Ltd is an Indian energy company building battery systems, BMS, and chargers for the industries that won't accept downtime — robotics, defence, drones, MHE, AGV, and solar. Located in Ahmednagar, we specialize in both R&D and manufacturing of advanced energy storage solutions. We are a fast-growing team working on cutting-edge technology with real-world impact, driving sustainability and enabling global hardware innovation from India.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Battery Simulation Engineer Intern to run the thermal and mechanical analysis behind our packs — heat generation and cooling, structural strength, vibration, and shock. Your simulations will feed directly into design decisions before metal is cut, and you will get to compare your predictions against physical test data from our own lab.
DEPARTMENT: R&D — Simulation & Validation DURATION: 3–6 months (flexible) REPORTING TO: Lead Engineer, Design & Validation WORK DAYS: Monday to Saturday MODE: On-site preferred LOCATION: Ahmednagar, Maharashtra
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Thermal Simulation
Build thermal and CFD models of cells, modules, and packs under real duty cycles Evaluate cooling strategies — natural convection, forced air, and liquid cooling — and heat spreader design Study thermal gradients between cells, hot spots, and thermal-runaway propagation scenarios
Structural & Mechanical Analysis
Run static, modal, random vibration, shock, and drop simulations on enclosures and mounts Check fastener, busbar, and bracket integrity against relevant standards and duty conditions Recommend design changes to the CAD team based on stress, deflection, and fatigue results Correlation & Reporting
Correlate simulation results with physical test data and refine model assumptions Prepare clean analysis reports with boundary conditions, meshing notes, results, and conclusions Maintain a library of material properties, load cases, and reusable simulation templates
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Students in their final year or recent graduates in Mechanical, Automobile, Aerospace, or Thermal Engineering Working knowledge of FEA and CFD tools like SolidWorks Sound fundamentals in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and strength of materials Ability to defend a result: mesh quality, convergence, and assumptions, not just a pretty contour plot Comfortable reading CAD models and working closely with design engineers
Preferred Attributes
Project exposure to battery thermal management, electronics cooling, or EV structures Scripting in Python or MATLAB for post-processing and automation Familiarity with test standards such as AIS-156, IEC 62133, or UN 38.3
WHAT YOU'LL GET
✓ Simulation work that changes real designs before they are manufactured
✓ The rare chance to correlate your models against physical test results in-house
✓ Mentorship from design and validation engineers on live product programmes
✓ Internship certificate and a report portfolio of genuine industrial analyses
STIPEND
Performance-linked
The first 30 days are an evaluation period, during which the internship is unpaid On demonstrated performance, the internship converts to a paid stipend, reviewed monthly The stipend amount depends on skills, output, and ownership shown during the evaluation period
