Job Role
As a Powertrain Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, selection, and integration of the electric powertrain system, including the motor, motor controller, drivetrain, shafts, and associated subsystems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a reliable, efficient, and production-ready powertrain.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and select the electric motor, motor controller, and associated powertrain subsystems
- Develop and package power transfer components including gears, differentials, and shafts within vehicle constraints
- Analyse power flow, torque transmission, efficiency, and losses across the complete powertrain
- Evaluate fatigue, durability, and reliability of powertrain components under real-world load and duty-cycle conditions
- Coordinate with electrical, vehicle integration, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Support prototype builds, testing, debugging, and iterative improvements based on test feedback
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, CAD models, calculations, and design reports
Key Skills & Tools
- Fundamentals of electric vehicle powertrains and driveline systems
- Understanding of gear trains, differentials, shafts, and bearings
- Exposure to fatigue, durability, and load-cycle analysis
- Ability to work with CAD tools and basic engineering calculations
Strong interest in hands-on testing and system-level integration
