Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced UTM Supervisor to lead and supervise Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UTM) ship survey activities. The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in ship surveys, knowledge of classification rules and regulations, and the ability to effectively supervise survey teams. The role involves conducting and supervising UTM surveys, ensuring class compliance, preparing technical reports, and supporting steel renewal and corrosion assessment activities across various vessel types.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise UTM (Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement) ship surveys.
• Ensure compliance with IACS Class requirements, rules, and regulations.
• Prepare, review, and summarize UTM survey reports.
• Assist with and support steel renewal planning based on survey findings.
• Assess and document steel thickness measurements and corrosion conditions.
• Coordinate and supervise survey teams effectively during onboard activities.
• Ensure safety and procedural compliance during surveys conducted onboard vessels.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including ship owners, shipyards, and classification societies.
• Support corrosion assessment and technical evaluation of vessel structures.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UTM ship surveys.
• Strong familiarity with Class rules, IACS requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Proven ability to supervise and manage survey teams effectively.
• Willingness and ability to travel worldwide for ship survey assignments.
• UTM certification preferred.
• Prior experience working with tankers, bulk carriers, and container vessels for corrosion assessment.
• Strong technical reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of ship structures and steel renewal requirements.
