Mould design Engineer

Job Purpose (Significance of the role & Objectives)  

As a Junior Mould Design Engineer, your role involves crafting moulds essential for the manufacturing process. You will collaborate with diverse materials to produce a wide range of products.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverable.

1. Work closely with product design and manufacturing team to understand and capture product specifications.
2. Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed and accurate mold designs.
3. Choose suitable materials for molds based on molding process, material properties, and production volume.
4. Develop prototypes and conduct tests to ensure molds meet design specifications.
5. Assist in product/tool development and moulding process.
6. Evaluate cost implications of different design options, considering material costs and production efficiency.
7. Ensure mold designs meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
8. Create and maintain detailed documentation of mold designs, including drawings and specifications.
9. Stay updated on industry advancements, implement improvements, and optimize existing molds.

Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Skill sets, and Experience

1. Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
2.  1 to 3 years of proven experience in mold design and manufacturing processes
3. Mould designing experience in NX and Solid works.
4. Should be familiar with GD&T.
5. Strong understanding of materials and their suitability for molding application.
6. Skilled in creating 3D models for parting surfaces and extracting core cavity.
7. Proficient in reconstructing A surfaces in accordance with the part file.
