Intern, Electrical Control Systems

The intern will assist in the design, integration, and testing of electrical control systems for Red Balloon's near-space and aerostat platforms. This role focuses on developing intelligent motor control and feedback loops.

Key Responsibilities

| Control System Design

• Assist in design of closed-loop control systems for winch and actuators

• Support development of PID controllers and state-space controllers

• Work on sensor integration for position, velocity, and force feedback

• Contribute to control algorithm implementation in embedded systems

| System Integration

• Support integration of control electronics with mechanical systems

• Assist in wiring, connector selection, and cable management

• Work on power electronics for motor drives

| Testing & Tuning

• Perform control system tuning and performance optimization

• Support system identification and model validation

• Document control strategies, parameters, and test results

• Pursuing or completed B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or related field

• Strong understanding of control theory and feedback systems

• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control system design

• Knowledge of embedded C programming for control implementation

• Familiarity with motor control techniques (PWM, H-bridge, etc.)

• Basic understanding of sensors and signal conditioning

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
