Intern, RF Communications

We are seeking a passionate and research-oriented Intern to support the design, development, and validation of Radio Frequency (RF) communication subsystems used in Red Balloon's aerostat, balloon, and near-space platforms.

Key Responsibilities

| RF System Design

• Assist in design of RF communication links for telemetry and command

• Support link budget analysis and frequency planning

• Work on antenna selection, placement, and optimization

• Contribute to ground station RF subsystem design

| Integration & Testing

• Support integration of RF modules with avionics systems

• Perform RF testing including power measurements, sensitivity tests, and range tests

• Assist in troubleshooting RF issues and interference problems

| Documentation & Analysis

• Document RF system specifications, test plans, and results

• Analyze RF performance data and recommend improvements

• Support regulatory compliance for RF operations

• Pursuing or completed B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field

• Understanding of RF principles, modulation techniques, and antenna theory

• Familiarity with RF test equipment and measurement techniques

• Basic knowledge of wireless communication standards

• Experience with simulation tools (ADS, CST, or similar) preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Good communication and documentation abilities
